Our familiar "DDA" logo returned to the products in late 2002 when our founder, Schaefer O'Neill, formed a North Carolina corporation called Data Design Associates, Inc., and then acquired the assets of IVIS International. 

This circle of corporate life began in the early 1970's in Sunnyvale, CA when Dave Lowry founded the California version of DDA.   In the late 1980's, DDA merged with Integral Systems, Inc., of Walnut Creek, CA

O'Neill joined the original DDA in 1982 and worked there until 1984, leaving to form IVIS International. IVIS was established to provide alternative consulting solutions to the DDA / Integral financial application customers. With a staff that included the developers of most of the financial systems and several other former DDA and Integral employees, IVIS began successfully competing for maintenance customers. 

The 1996 acquisition of DDA’s financial products from Integral led to significant growth in the support and consulting divisions. IVIS' experience and expertise enabled it to continue to improve on the core systems, helping clients to maximize the efficiency of their financial management systems.

O'Neill left IVIS in 1998 and worked as a consultant for several years before forming the North Carolina version of Data Design Associates, Inc., and acquiring the assets of IVIS.

In a joint effort with our sister company, SembraCare, Inc, (www.SembraCare.com) DDA has re-engineered the G/S (General System) core of the Financial Applications into Genesis, allowing us to rapidly develop applications which will still operate in the IBM world (z/OS, VSE, AS400) and be fully functional in the asp.net n-tier server world as well. 

The DDA team has already written several sub-application enhancements for the GL, FA and AP accounting applications and the core data storage for the applications is being converted from VSAM to DB/2 (SQL) database.  We are very excited about this direction, and feel it has been well worth the investment.
