The system can be operated as a single or multi-company system. In larger corporations with independent divisions or sub-companies, multi-company processing offers a high degree of flexibility.
All of the following company controls are established at the company policy level and can be maintained through transactions entered either online or in batch, without programming changes:
|Company Run Controls||User Dictionary||Foreign Currency|
|Cost Center Controls||Company Edit Defaults||Account Controls|
|Company USERID||Account/Center Controls||Fiscal Calendar|
|Repeating and Diarized Journals||Data Retention||Accounting Report Options|
|Seasonal Pattern Controls||Star Report Definitions||Suspense Accounts|
|Report Requests||Account Structures||Mass Maintenance Controls|
|Organization Structures||Allocation Controls||Other Report Structures|
Each of the preceding control categories can be shared among companies. For example, several companies can share the same chart of accounts, but have separate organization structures and report controls.
All company controls can be entered and maintained online. The same screens are used for both inquiry and update of control information for the user’s convenience. Users can set up accounts, enter budgets, correct errors, and define and run reports immediately online.
